Julian Serrano Tapas
Madrid-native Julian Serrano is a graduate of the Escuela Gastronomie P.P.O. hotel management school in Marbella, Spain. Following brief positions in Miami and Nashville, Serrano moved to San Francisco where he helped open Masa’s restaurant under renowned founding chef Masataka Kobayashi. One year later, Serrano took the helm as Masa’s executive chef.
In 1998, Serrano brought his memorable Mediterranean-French cooking to Bellagio as executive chef of Picasso. At ARIA, he satisfies a long-held ambition to share the secrets of his own Spanish cuisine with his namesake restaurant, Julian Serrano. In 2010, Esquire awarded it as one of the Best New Restaurants of the year. His distinguished career also includes two James Beard Foundation Awards: Best Chef Southwest and Best Chef California. In 2015, his first Italian concept will debut at Bellagio. Lago by Julian Serrano will feature Italian small plates and breathtaking fountain views.
